打架好!

On the 16th of April, choo 老师 taught us about initials.

First we start with the initials and how to pronounce them:

b, p , m, f --------- lips
d, t, n, l ----------- tipof tongue
g, k, h ------------ back of mouth
j, q, x ------------ surface of tongue
z, c, s ------------ back of closed teeth
zh, ch, sh, r ------ roll tongue

There are also simple initials. You don't have to memorize the simple ones, just remember the main initials.

Next, we go to finals which are:

a
o
e
i
u
ü

There are also compounds. Understand the main finals and use the same concept.

The last thing from pinyin is Tones. There are 4 type of tones.

That is all what laoshi taught us. Apart from that, she also showed us a video on how to improve our understanding of a new language. The speaker from the video is Chris Lonsdale, a white guy who is very fluent in mandarin. It only took 6 months for him to master Mandarin. He mentioned tips that every person should do in order to learn a new language. Those tips are:

1. Listen a lot!
2. Focus on getting the meaning first (body language)
3. Start mixing ( 10verbs X 10nouns X 10adjectives)
4. Focus on the core words. (3000 words are already 95% of commonly used mandarin words)
5. Get a language parent
6.
7. Direct connection to mental image. Visualize.

Lastly, lasohi also gave us some phrases for us to memorize.

Laoshi, wo keyi cesuo ma/ Can I go to the toilet?
Laoshi, wo yao qu cesuo/ I want to go to the toilet.
Laoshi, kan bu dao/ I cannot see
Dui bu qi/ Sorry
Cesuo zai nali/ Where is the toilet
Wo qu/ Pergi
Dajia hao/ Hello everyone!

That is all for now. 写写
